Privacy Policy — Smiðja
Last updated: August 21, 2026
Smiðja is a garage log for motorcycles, and it is built on one principle: everything you record stays on your device. Smiðja has no server, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. This policy is short because there is very little to explain.
1. Data Controller
The app is made by SassaGold Studios. You can contact us at [email protected].
2. Data Stored on Your Device
The app stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Your bikes — name, make, model, year and odometer readings.
- Service log — the services you record, with dates, costs and notes.
- Maintenance intervals and parts — the schedules and components you track.
- Fuel log — fill-ups you record.
- Winter storage history — storage periods and checklists.
- Receipt photos — photos you choose to attach to a service entry.
None of this is uploaded anywhere. It is not visible to us or to anyone else. It is deleted when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
3. Data That Leaves Your Device
None, unless you send it yourself. The backup feature packs your data into a file and hands it to Android's share sheet — where it goes (your Drive, your email, a message) is entirely your choice and happens under the terms of the service you send it to. The PDF service history works the same way. Smiðja itself has no network features and sends nothing.
4. Permissions
- Camera / photos — used only when you choose to attach a receipt photo to a service entry. On modern Android, Smiðja can only access the photos you explicitly select. Photos are stored inside the app's private storage on your device.
5. Children
Smiðja is a utility for vehicle owners and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
6. Changes to This Policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Given the app's design, we do not expect it to.
7. Contact
Questions are welcome at [email protected].
